Business Manager – Software Sales (Energy & Utilities)
The responsibility of this position is to promote core software-based commercially viable end-to-end solutions in Energy Sector. The candidate is responsible to accelerate software and service sales and business development by working with the Utility IT service’s Techno commercial teams.
The candidate should have demonstrated the ability and desire to drive transformational software solutions in Energy Sector. The candidate should have business acumen ship and result-oriented selling skills and should have an understanding of the global energy markets and power generation, Transmission, Distribution & Smart Grid business models.
The candidate should have the ability to make up the solutions based on IT & OT and influence decision-makers to transform their current practices. The candidate should apply business insights, build and maintain client relationships, incorporate hardware, software, and services into client-valued solutions and ensure client readiness for the implementation of technical solutions.
Key Aspects of Job
- Be recognized within the Energy/Utility market as a thought leader in driving all levels of current and future software based strategy and execution to gain Commercial value.
- Define, build and implement commercial strategy for Software (i.e. commercial models, pricing strategy, etc.) connected to offerings.
- Bring in operational ability in forecasting, sales process, driving continuous commercial improvement.
- Lead customer engagement at CIO level to introduce our vision, link customer business objectives to our solution sets and align client expectations to measurable outcomes and quantifiable business value.
- Provide feedback and insights to SSD to enhance the product and solution working alongside marketing, product management, support and delivery.
- Develop the go to market strategy with the marketing team, via channels, consultants, partners or direct.
- Meet and exceed assigned quarterly and yearly sales and strategic account objectives in Energy Sector.
- Be a creative problem solver and generate ideas that will benefit the company; recognize opportunities within the Indian Energy Sector and quickly mobilize resources to take advantage of those opportunities by creating, articulating and executing against the strategic plan.
- Educate, train and develop current sales talent.
Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in software sales, business development, sales strategy and/or related software services sales in Energy sector.
- Degree in business, engineering, computer science, marketing or related discipline.
- Interest to travel.
Special Qualifications
- Deep Knowledge in Smart Grid, Energy Efficiency, Block Chain, EV Charging, other Energy & utility products and services.
- Thought leadership, comfortable with market and technology trends, develop content and domain expertise; articulate with ability to tell a compelling story and vision.
- have some level of success as a software solutions consultant to impress at CIO level; strong executive presence.
- Proven track record of sales success: achieving/over-achieving quotas, building out new markets, etc.
- Strong desire to train and enable sales professionals to embrace and use solution selling approaches that compel end customers to adopt and implement software to solve more strategic, comprehensive, mission critical business problems.
- Technical acumen to interface with technologists, understand complex concepts and translate in a way that businesses or industry can understand.
